Discussion on Coastal Resources, Forest Lands & Waste Management

DENR 5 Regional Executive Director Francisco E. Milla, Jr., our kababayan who we fondly call “Sir/Manoy Toto” warmly received the officials and personnel of this Local Government to discuss matters on Coastal Resources, Forest Lands and Waste Management last September 19, 2022.

Among the topics discussed were:

  1. Forest Zone, specifically the establishment of bamboo setum at barangay Ombao Hts, Tan-Awan Community Eco-Park, establishment of barangay sites and delineation of protected forest/ water source;
  2. Coastal Zone that includes relocation/resettlement project, delineation/establishment of foreshore and easement, foreshore agreements, rehabilitation and expansion of Marine Protected Area, and mangrove area rehabilitation;
  3. Solid Waste Management particularly the Establishment of Sanitary Landfill;
  4. Inter-Agency Task Force Lasting PEACE for Bula.

The long-sought guidance along these areas were provided where every discussion points were comprehensively and carefully discussed together with the other concerned officials of DENR.

The delegation brought home the inspiration and hope that at last critical issues concerning the environment, settlements among coastal and forest communities among other concerns will be responsively addressed.

The delegation of the LGU was composed of MPDC Mary Ruth Parro, Councilor Kulin Hombre, Councilor Greg Pontanal, Acting MENRO Donna Martirez, Municipal Engineer Archie Pragata, MPDO personnel Denise Vibandor, Architect Kenneth Tulod, Fhiljie Buquid and Vernon Lanzuela.
