The Municipality of Bula became the latest beneficiary of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR)’s Multi-Purpose Evacuation Center (MPEC) project.

Today, December 15, 2021: The Municipality of Bula became the latest beneficiary of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR)’s Multi-Purpose Evacuation Center (MPEC) project.

The agency formally turned over today a total of P50 Million Pesos to the local officials of Bula headed by Mayor Amelita “Megay” Ibasco.

Present during the turn-over of the grants was Madam Andrea Domingo, PAGCOR Chairman and CEO, PAGCOR Directors Carmen N. Pedrosa and Gabriel Claudio, and Atty. Alfredo C. Lim, PAGCOR President, and COO. Ms. Herminia Anciano, Bula’s Municipal Treasurer was with Mayor Ibasco.

Salvacion Brgy. Captain Inton Ballebar expressed his joy upon learning about the grants by saying “Napaka-swerte ng Bula sa regalo ng PAGCOR sa atin ngayong pasko. Itong MPEC o evacuation center ay napakalaking tulong sa ating mga kababayan dahil ang Bula ay parte ng Bicol Region na palaging binibisita ng bagyo.”

San Roque resident Greg Lopez Pontanal, who was also present during the turnover of the state-run gaming firm’s donation to their town, said that having a permanent evacuation center would spare them the difficulty of seeking refuge in other barangay during emergencies.

“Kapag walang bagyo pwede namin itong gawing convention center para sa mga malalaking pagtitipon kagaya ng conferences, bazaars, training at marami pang iba na makapagbibigay ng serbisyo sa mga taga-Bula. ” Pontanal added.
The said grant was possible thru the initiation, close coordination, and invaluable effort of our Executive Assistant II, Sir Nonoy Ibasco.
